Let’s begin at the beginning
For something that has always been debated upon, no conclusion can ever be generated in the true sense. However, this doesn’t mean that we stop the debate itself. Darwin’s theory of Natural selection and the theory of Evolution are opposing theories underlining our very origin. To choose one is to give a set of incomplete facts and findings since the two are closely linked and inseparable for me.
To begin with, the presence of a supernatural creator behind all creations seems inevitable. The fact that some of us pray to Him in our own ways seems to me that we actually do acknowledge a source of all Power. How each molecule in man came about and how each cell in our body came into being so perfectly baffled even Darwin and the other evolutionists. The ‘Black Box’ which is what scientists call something whose components are unknown to them says it all. Even the living cell is a Black Box as far as Darwin was concerned. In such a scenario, we can say that only what is prearranged can undergo rearrangement. This pre-arrangement is what has baffled scientists over ages.
To look at it from another perspective, one that Darwin emphasized upon, I see some evidence of truth in it. Evolutionists have often argued that time has brought in the complexities today whereas it started out as being a simple process. Believing wholly and solely in the human mind and its capabilities that has brought about the ‘survival of the fittest’, this lot feels that the onus of an explanation lies on the creationists who insist on thrusting credit on a Creator who is invisible and therefore unaccountable. They support themselves with enthusiastic theories which provide support but no conviction.
In the face of such confusion and uncertainty, the battle is still on amidst the reed diffusers and scientific theories, and will remain so till the creationists can provide evidence or evolutionists can convince one and all. Till that time, I feel that creationists lack proof but make more sense. The world being created out of nothing seems to negate the glory of it all. The thought of an all powerful yet mysterious Creator somehow lends humans a touch of that mystery too.
