The Fallacy Of Presumption

I regard the idea of adhering to any single system of belief to be erroneous. Truth has many faces, as anyone working secondary school jobs in any part of the world will tell you. It is founded on objective reality but is also subjected to personal interpretation. Hence, I find the long-standing debate between the evolutionist and creationist factions to be quite unnecessary and absurd.
Evolutionists believe that the history and diversity of life on earth can be explained by the theories of natural selection and genetic inheritance. Creationists, on the other hand, believe in a world created by God. So far it is all right. But the moment, evolutionists dismiss the existence of a Creator or a Supreme Being and creationists dismiss the scientific insights of men like Darwin, then we leave the world of truth seeking behind and enter a dubious realm of complacency and reckless certitudes.
Both the parties do not possess the wherewithal to completely disprove the other, do they? I believe there are evolutionists who believe in a personal God or a guiding force and there are religious people who see the design of God in the science of evolution.
I do not equate creationism with religion because there are many religions and theists who credit the scientific facts of evolutionary development. I believe that those who interpret the Bible, only in the purest literal sense, do not only limit the Word of God but also presume to know His mysterious ways. After all, the Bible has been penned and perused by human beings who cannot possibly possess the power to comprehend God, fully.
It is my understanding that some facts are irrefutable and some are not. But truth is something we have to continuously strive for, to constantly update and sincerely interpret. If we sit on our laurels, we end up restraining our enormous potential and losing our intelligence and integrity.
